NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Three children were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on I-64 in Newport News, Saturday morning.

Virginia State Police blocked both east and westbound lanes at Fort Eustis to allow the medivac helicopter to land and take the children to a local hospital for treatment for their injuries.

State Police say they are working several multi-vehicle accidents that happened on the interstate between exits 247 and 250.

About 14 vehicles total have been involved from around 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., according to VSP spokesperson Sgt. Anaya.
