FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Franklin are looking for a man accused of assaulting a mother and her two young children and firing shots during a weekend incident.
Franklin police said Monday that 23-year-old Trevoris Evans is wanted on several charges for an alleged incident at Dorchester Square Apartments.

Residents who live in Dorchester Square reported several shots during the early morning hours of May 19. Officers responded to the complex just before 4 a.m.
An investigation found an ex-boyfriend had kicked in the door of a woman who lived in the J section of the complex. That person then assaulted her and her children, ages 1 and 2.
The woman called the father of the children, who came to pick them up.
The ex-boyfriend and the children’s father went outside where multiple gunshots were fired. Evidence indicates multiple shooters were involved.
Apartments in the L and J sections were hit by gunfire.
A 30-year-old Southampton County man was grazed in the shoulder by a bullet. He was treated and released from the hospital and was uncooperative with police.
Trevoris Evans is wanted for the following charges:
- Three counts of burglary
- Strangulation
- Three counts of use of a firearm in a felony
- Discharge a firearm in public
- Four counts of assault and battery
- Reckless handling of a firearm
- Shooting into an occupied dwelling
- Willfully or maliciously obstruct sending a communication
