HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man accused in a Hampton shooting that left another man injured has turned himself in, police say.
Hampton police said 28-year-old Dontaye Lamont McDaniel was wanted for an Oct. 12 shooting on Golden Gate Drive.
Officers called to the scene that night found the victim a half mile down the road on Nickerson Boulevard. The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police said a preliminary investigation found the shooting stemmed from an argument between the two.
McDaniel turned himself in to police on Wednesday. He is charged with malicious wounding, shooting in public causing injury, use of a firearm in a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
McDaniel remains in custody at Hampton City Jail, according to police.
