Suspect in custody after credit union robbery in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A suspect is in custody following a credit union robbery Friday afternoon in Newport News. 

Police say the robbery happened just before 5 p.m. at Virginia Educators Credit Union in the 12600 block of Nettles Drive. 

No one was hurt and the suspect was apprehended at a separate location, according to police. 

No suspect information has been released and the investigation into the robbery is ongoing. Stay with WAVY.com for updates.
