Suffolk’s red-hot Lowe leads Durham past Tides 11-8 in extras

News

NORFOLK (WAVY) – Anyone who braved the summer temperatures at Harbor Park Saturday night got to see maybe the hottest hitter at any level of baseball. He may not have been wearing  Norfolk Tides uniform, but he was still a player every one of the 9,102 in attendance seemed to root for.

Suffolk’s Brandon Lowe, a graduate of Nansemond River High School, went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored in the Durham Bulls’ 11-8 extra-inning win over the Norfolk Tides. Prior to last night’s game, Lowe had belted eight home runs in his previous 10 outings, and had a .472 batting average since being called up from double-A Montgomery on June 7.
