Suffolk Public Schools teacher killed in head-on crash in Prince George Co.

PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WAVY) — An elementary school art teacher at Suffolk Public Schools died following a head-on crash Sunday morning in Prince George County. 

Suffolk Schools officials confirmed Jodie Linkous was a teacher at Oakland Elementary School. 

The crash happened around 11 a.m. Sunday in the 11000 block of Hitchcock Road.

Prince George County Police told WAVY sister station WRIC that Linkous’ Kia Soul was heading westbound when it crossed the center line and struck a 2010 Honda Accord that was heading east. 

Linkous, 43, was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries. 

Police say the crash is still under investigation, and anyone with info is asked to contact the Prince George Police Department  at (804) 733-2773.
