Suffolk police arrest armed robbery suspect

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk police arrested a man they believe robbed a bank over the weekend.

Thirty-seven-year-old Travas Janmain Watkins has been and charged for the armed robbery of a BB&T branch on East Washington Street.

A 911 call was received on Friday, June 15, at 4:26 p.m. alerting police that a man with a weapon was demanding money from tellers. He then fled from the scene on foot with cash.

Police say there were no injuries from the incident.

Watkins was arrested on Saturday, and is being held without bond.
