Suffolk PD looking for man suspected of second robbery in the area

Rite Aid robbery suspect

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk Police are looking for a man who they believe has committed his second robbery in the area in one week.

Emergency Communications was notified of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid located in the 1500 block of Holland Road, just before 7:45 p.m. on May 12.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a black male entered the store, picked up a few items and then proceeded to speak with a store clerk. While speaking with the clerk, the man pulled out a knife and demanded money. The suspect then left the store with the items he had picked up without paying for them. No money was taken and no injuries reported.

Police say he left the store on foot headed toward a McDonald’s parking lot next door. There, he got into a four-door, dark colored vehicle and left the scene.

Suffolk Police believe this is the same suspect who robbed the Dollar General on May 10

The investigation into both incidents remains ongoing.
