Suffolk man gets 12 years for child porn charge

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A  Suffolk man who possessed images and videos of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 33-year-old Christopher Howerton distributed images of child pornography from 2016 through 2017.

Authorities found numerous images and videos on electronic devices seized during a December 2017 search of Howerton house in Suffolk.

Howerton will face 20 years of supervised release after he serves the 10-year sentence.
