Truck in water Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Boats aren’t the only thing in the water Tuesday afternoon in Norfolk’s Lake Whitehurst.

A viewer sent 10 On Your Side a photo of a truck submerged in the waters of Lake Whitehurst, off Shore Drive and Heutte Drive across from Joint Expeditionary Base–Little Creek.

Norfolk police spokeswoman Jo Ann Hughes said officers were called to a Jiffy Lube at 2463 E. Little Creek Road before 2 p.m. for a report of a stolen vehicle.

While officers were investigating, there was another call about a car in the water at the boat ramp near Shore and Heutte, which matched the description of the stolen vehicle.

Hughes said no one was in the truck. No suspects have been identified, and Hughes said there is no security video that shows where the truck was stolen from.
