NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police responded to a 7-Eleven overnight Tuesday in reference to several gunshots heard.

Officers arrived at the gas station located at 25th Street and Jefferson Avenue around 2:10 a.m. and made contact with the clerk at the store. The 32-year-old Newport News woman told them she was shot at by a group of males from outside the store. They were last seen fleeing in a blue Ford SUV.

The clerk said the same group that fired the shots had come into the store moments earlier and started saying things to her. Based on their comments, police say the clerk told the men they needed to leave.

There were no reported injuries from the gunfire.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police released a surveillance photo of one of the suspects. If you can identify him, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (1-888-562-5887).
