Sen. Kaine makes campaign stops in Hampton Roads

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Senator Tim Kaine made the first of 11 stops he has on the agenda for this weekend while campaigning in Hampton Roads for his re-election.

Kaine opened a new field office in Norfolk off of 22nd Street to start his weekend of events. He spoke about health care, creating more jobs and making education available to all Virginians.

His campaign slogan is “A Virginia that works for all.”

“It’s about Virginia, and the challenges and problems of Virginians, but also the cool things that we should be doing more of at the national level,” said Kaine. “It’s about work, the dignity of work, jobs and economic opportunity in every corner of this state.”

After the office opening, Kaine attended the Norfolk Asian Fest, a Faith Leaders Lunch with Rep. Donald McEachin, a Meet and Greet in Chesapeake, and a Meet and Greet in Virginia Beach at Young Veteran’s Brewing Co.

On Sunday, Kaine will attend a church service at The Mount and another church service at First Baptist Church South Hill, a barbecue at his Hampton campaign office and a Women’s Community Leaders’ Meeting.

Kaine will be the Portsmouth Parade and Memorial Service on Monday, as well as the Williamsburg-JCC Indivisible Meet and Greet.
