VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — 10 On Your Side has confirmed a second victim has died following a crash in Virginia Beach over the weekend.
Police said a second passenger passed away from her injuries Tuesday morning. She was later identified as 20-year-old Kimberly Stewart.
Virginia Beach Police said the crash happened in the 4800 block Providence Road near Newmarket Drive around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
When police arrived to the scene, they found a Toyota sedan that had been involved. A woman inside the sedan had succumbed to her injuries at the scene, according to police.
That woman was later identified as Felicia N. Parrish of Virginia Beach, police say.
The driver of the sedan was also taken to a local hospital, but police say that victim was treated for minor injuries.
Police say the second car involved was a Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle, driven by Caytlin K. Emmett-Wallace of Virginia Beach.
Emmett-Wallace was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Police say she was later detained for further questioning as part of their investigation into the crash.
Police charged Emmett-Wallace with driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter-vehicle related and maiming as a result of driving under the influence.
On March 6, the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said Emmett-Wallace was now facing two counts of aggravated involuntary manslaughter in addition to the DUI charge.
She was being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility.
Her prelimminary hearing is scheduled for May 3 at 8:30 a.m. in criminal courtroom number one.
