ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (WAVY) — The scene is clear in Isle of Wight County after a Norfolk Southern coal train was blocking Route 258 near W. Windsor Boulevard, according to dispatch.

Dispatchers tell WAVY.com a mechanical failure brought the train to a halt in the middle of Rt. 258 around 4:38 a.m., blocking both directions of traffic.

VDOT set up a detour to guide motorists around the scene. The road was reopened after several hours.
