Road work to impact traffic at MMMBT and High Rise Bridge

News

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Department of Transportation will be working to repair a water seepage problem at the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel. Work begins February 4 and is expected to be finished by May 17. The project will force single lane closures along I-664 North and I-664 South in the overnight hours. Occasional stoppages that could last up to 20 minutes are also possible.  Weeknight work hours are 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekend repairs may be required on Saturdays 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on Sundays 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The High Rise Bridge expansion project is coming soon and the Virginia Department of Transportation will be setting up the necessary work zones. Look for changes along I-64 East and I-64 West between the area near I-464 and Military Hwy in Chesapeake.
