Restaurant Week kicks off Monday in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Starting Monday, you can get a great deal on a meal with Virginia Beach Restaurant Week.

Dozens of restaurants from across the city are offering special deals on breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The chair of the Virginia Beach Restaurant Association says each year this week showcases about a hundred local restaurants.

Many restaurants that are showcasing their menus are small local businesses, and this event gives them an extra boost to reach new customers.

Cecile Abid, the manager of Le Yaca’s Hilltop location, says they’re a family-owned business and this is the second time the restaurant participated in Restaurant Week.

“It’s always good to have new guests coming in and try the restaurant, try the food,” Abid said.

She says it’s proven to be a success and they have had guests from last year’s Restaurant Week that continue to come back.

She hopes for the same success this year.

“After that, I hope they will come back and try us again.”

The week is also a chance for each restaurant to run their menu a little differently. They can highlight the big sellers, bring back old favorites, or even experiment with new dishes

“So it’s an opportunity to reduce our prices, offer specials, and connect with new people and show them what we do, being very proud of how we produce our food, and how we take care of our guests,” says Adam Cohen, manager at Baker’s Crust.

Virginia Beach Restaurant Week runs through next Sunday. Click here to see which restaurants are participating.
