Rescue crews from three cities responded to fire at a retirement home

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Fire units from three different cities responded to a retirement community Sunday morning after a fire.

According to Chesapeake Fire Department’s Twitter, crews from Virginia Beach Fire and Norfolk Fire arrived at the 1000 block of Justis Street shortly after 12:25 p.m.

Officials say the Indian River Residential Care facility was evacuated upon arrival. No injuries have been reported.

In a Tweet, fire officials stated that the fire started outside of the building, but was extinguished quickly.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
