Rep. Taylor subpoenaed in alleged forged signature case

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — 10 On Your Side has confirmed that Rep. Scott Taylor has been subpoenaed in an alleged forged signature case.

Two former staffers of Taylor are accused of putting fake names on a petition to get Shaun Brown — who ran as a Democrat against Taylor in 2016 — on the November ballot as an independent.

The State Democratic Party filed a lawsuit in mid-August asking for Brown not to appear on the ballot.

Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney Colin Stolle filed a petition in court last month, requesting that a special prosecutor look into the case.

The alleged forgery case is being heard in Richmond.
