Realty office reopens in Avon following lightning strike

AVON, N.C. (WAVY) – Outer Beaches Realty in Avon got struck by lightning Sunday, but reopened for business Monday morning. 

The strike damaged parts of the building on 40227 Tigrone Boulevard.  No one was hurt. 

Crews restored electrical power so the business could reopen. 

In a Facebook post, The Waves Office thanked the following groups:

  • Chicamacomico, Salvo and Avon Fire Departments
  • Dare County EMS and Sheriff’s Department
  • North Carolina Highway Patrol
  • Richard Marlin, Assistant Fire Chief, Frisco Fire Department
  • Steven Kovacs, Dare County Fire Marshall
  • Ron Akers, Leigh Taylor Construction
  • Midgett Realty
  • Sun Realty
  • Surf or Sound Realty
