Raccoon tests positive for rabies in Yorktown

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Officials with the Peninsula Health District say a raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Yorktown. 

Health officials say the raccoon was found in the area of Old Dominion Road and Cockletown Road area. 

Anyone who has been exposed to the rabid raccoon should contact the Peninsula Health District-Newport News Environmental Health Office at (757) 594-7340.
