NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Nearly 3,000 customers lost power in Newport News Monday morning.
According to Dominion Energy’s website 2,879 customers were without power at the height of the outage, with the majority of those in the southeast section of the city.
The cause of that outage appears to be that a circuit has gone out.
All but 198 customers have had their power restored.
There were also a few hundred outages reported across other Hampton Roads cities, as strong storms rolled through the region overnight into Monday morning.
