PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — April is pothole month.
During spring, the road hazards seem to be popping up everywhere. VDOT is urging drivers to report any potholes as soon as they see them. Officials say the quicker they know about the road hazards, the quicker they can fix them.
“Because they range in size, so they can cause a variety of challenges to drivers, so we ask for people to be on the lookout when driving and avoid them when possible,” said VDOT Communications Director Holly Christopher.
Drivers can report potholes by calling 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800- 367-7623) or by going on the VDOT website.
Christopher also said we’re seeing more than the normal amount of potholes this time of year because of all the rain we’ve been getting, so drivers need to be extra careful.
