PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives are investigating two overnight robberies that both occurred at 7-Elevens.
The first robbery happened around 2:50 a.m. after dispatch received several 911 calls from the 7-Eleven off Effingham Street.
The suspect, a black male, passed a note to the clerk stating that he was robbing the store. The clerk then passed him a roll of lottery tickets.
The second happened not long after, when police responded to the 3000 block of Airline Boulevard for another commercial robbery.
The 5’8″ black male entered the 7-Eleven in a white hooded sweatshirt, a white ski mask and blue jeans. The man left after demanding money and taking the clerk’s wallet.
