HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico Police has charged a 25-year-old Portsmouth man with murder after the department said he is linked to one of two homicides earlier this month.

Frederick Sims-McRae, of Portsmouth, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Roma Harris.

The 58-year-old was found in the 300 block of N. Laburnum Avenue on Jan. 13.

Roma was one of two men identified in two separate death investigations at 11 North at White Oak apartment complex.

Police said both incidents were non-related.

Henrico County Public School spokesperson said Harris spent a total of nine years with the school district, including six of them as a custodian at Donahoe Elementary School in Sandston.

No additional information was released by police.
