YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) — A 53-year-old man was arrested Friday night for allegedly attacking two teens during a football game on Bailey Field in Yorktown because one was waving a Confederate flag.
The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says the man confronted and attacked a 15-year-old boy that was said to be waving a Confederate flag in the stands. A nearby girl was also a victim, but officers say she was not the intended target.
The football game happening at the time was between Poquoson High School and Tabb High School.
According the sheriff’s office, Thomas Ozoroski of Poquoson was taken into custody for the incident and charged with two counts of assault and battery.
