NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Two Hampton women were arrested Thursday in connection to an alleged assault reported on the Fourth of July.

The night of July 4, Newport News police met with a woman who needed to report an assault from that morning. She said she and her current boyfriend were attacked in his residence by his 32-year-old ex-girlfriend Vonda Jones.

Accompanied by her sister, 28-year-old Chantay Jones, Vonda entered his home and proceeded to beat her ex-partner, the woman told police.
