Police: Two-vehicle accident turns into road rage, shots fired

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police say a minor, two-vehicle accident turned into a road rage situation where shots were fired Sunday morning. 

It happened just before 10 a.m. near Corprew Drive and Turnpike Road. 

When police arrived at the scene, they found two victims with minor injuries from glass after their windshield was hit with a bullet. 

Detectives found out that the two victims were involved in an accident that led to shots being fired due to road rage. The other vehicle involved fled the area before police called. 

No one was injured by the gunfire.The 2800 block of Turnpike Road was closed in both directions while police investigated.
