Police: Teen shot at apartment complex in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A 16-year-old male was shot on Sunday night, June 3, at a Hampton apartment complex, police say. 

Hampton police say a call was received around 11:23 p.m. reporting gunshots near the 2000 block of Cunningham Drive. A call received two minutes later reported a shooting at the Peninsula Grove Apartment Complex

Responding officers found the victim inside an apartment. 

Police say the teen was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. There were no other reported injuries.

Upon checking the surrounding area, officers found a vehicle and second apartment that were damaged by gunfire. 

Police say there is no suspect information, and the circumstances of this incident are still under investigation.
