Police: Teen seriously injured in Portsmouth shooting


PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A teenager was seriously injured in a shooting late Friday morning in Portsmouth, a police spokesperson says.

Portsmouth dispatchers say police were called to a shooting in 50 block of Lexington Drive, off Deep Creek Boulevard, around 11 a.m.

The teen, a male, was taken to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter’s, according to dispatch.

Lt. Bryant Hall with Portsmouth police says the teen was shot in the upper body.
