Police: SUV strikes Newport News school bus; no injuries reported

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — No injuries were reported after police say the driver of an SUV reportedly ran a stop sign and struck a school bus Tuesday afternoon in Newport News. 

The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. in the area of 26th Street and Marshall Avenue, according to police. 

Three students were onboard at the time, but no injuries were reported. Police say the driver of the SUV did complain of pain, but there were no visible injuries. 

The driver of the SUV, Stanley White, 65, of the 700 block of 32nd Street, was issued a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign.
