Police standoff with man in crisis locked in home ends peacefully


UPDATE: Police say the issue was resolved peacefully and the man is being assessed by Crisis Intervention Team officers. They say he’s not facing charges at this time. 

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police say they’re responding to a man in crisis who’s locked inside his home in the 1700 block of N. Lakeland Drive 

Police have several streets closed around the home in the Bromley neighborhood as officers attempt to speak with the man. 

WAVY’s Brett Hall reports the bomb squad arrived just before 5:30 p.m., but no one has been evacuated at this time.
