Police seek armed, dangerous suspect in Hampton shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police have identified a man wanted in a shooting that left another man injured last week in Hampton.

Hampton police said in an update Jermaine Orlando Autry is wanted on charges for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, shooting in public and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The charges stem from a March 6 shooting on Lassiter Drive. A man injured in the shooting was found in a home on nearby Martha Lee Drive. 

Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

A photo of the suspect obtained through surveillance video was released on March 7. Police said Autry is considered armed and dangerous.
