NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — An increased police presence is expected at Norview High School in Norfolk following reports of a threat.
A spokesperson for Norfolk Public Schools said administrators at Norview were made aware of a threat circulating on social media. Police were alerted to the situation.
The area around the school will have an increased police presence as a precaution.
School officials said Norview’s principal called parents and guardians to inform them of the situation.
The situation at Norview comes as authorities are investigating threats made toward schools in Surry and Sussex counties.
