CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A pizza delivery driver was shot and killed Thursday night in Chesapeake, a police spokesperson confirms.
The Chesapeake Police Department said it responded to the Marina Point Apartments around 9:45 p.m. for a shots fired call and found someone who had been fatally shot inside a vehicle.
The person killed was a female pizza delivery driver, police said. She was later identified as 30-year-old Stephanie Brainerd of Virginia Beach.
Shortly after, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving, which led to a short pursuit that ended in Portsmouth near Maryview Hospital.
Police said it’s unclear if the two incidents are related this time, but detectives are currently investigating.
