Police: Missing 89-year-old man from Kitty Hawk returns home

KITTY HAWK, N.C. (WAVY) — A missing 89-year-old man from Kitty Hawk has returned home safe, police say.

Kitty Hawk Police Department said in a Facebook post Oscar Edwards Northen was reportedly on his way to visit a patient at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Thursday morning.

The post said Northen never arrived at the hospital. A Silver Alert was issued for Northen. 

Police later said Northen returned home safe.
