Police: Man who ran onto Hampton Blvd. seriously injured after being struck by car

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — An auto-pedestrian crash on Hampton Blvd. has left a man with serious injuries and closed Hampton Blvd. at 27th St. on Thursday afternoon. 

The crash happened just after 2:45 p.m., according to police. They say a preliminary investigation revealed the man ran into the southbound lane of Hampton Blvd. and was struck by a Honda Accord. 

Police say the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and southbound lanes of Hampton are closed from 27th to 30th streets. 

The pedestrian has been taken to the hospital, and he’s expected to survive.
