Police: Man used stolen credit cards to buy $1K worth of goods

KITTY HAWK, N.C. (WAVY) — Kitty Hawk police arrested a man for allegedly using stolen credit cards to buy more than $1,000 worth of goods.

Police say Hector Eugene Jimenez, Jr. used the credit cards at Walmart.

Jimenez allegedly bought $1,400 worth of goods.

Police say he stole mail from boxes on Shelby Avenue, Parker Street, Smith Street, The Woods Road and Emeline Lane in Kitty Hawk that contained checks and credit cards. 

Jimenez reportedly tried similar thefts in the Tyner and Lexington, North Carolina area.

Police are urging residents to check their incoming or outgoing mail between Dec. 26 and Dec. 30. Any residents who believe they are missing mail can call 252-261-3895.
