Police: Man injured after robbery turns into shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 57-year-old man who was waiting for a bus in Norfolk Tuesday night was injured after a robbery turned into a shooting, police say. 

Norfolk police said the incident happened around 8:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of Lafayette Boulevard

Someone armed with a gun walked up behind the man and demanded money. The man was shot during the robbery, police said.

Paramedics took the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

Police said he is expected to be OK.
