NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A North Carolina man is facing charges after police say he was accused of assaulting and threatening his girlfriend in Newport News.
Police say the alleged incident happened over the weekend, along Peterson Place.
Officers called to another home Saturday morning spoke with a 54-year-old Newport News woman who said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, 38-year-old Bryant Davis.
Police say Bryant allegedly got upset when she chose to spend the night with her family instead. She claimed an argument between the two of them escalated, and Davis placed his hand over her month.
Davis allegedly pinned her down and wouldn’t let her leave the home. Police say she claimed Davis threatened to kill her and himself.
Police say Davis was charged with abduction, sexual battery, assault on family member and strangulation.
