Police investigate double shooting at Newport News apartment

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police say two people were shot at the Tech Center Square Apartment Homes Thursday afternoon in Newport News.

Newport News dispatchers say the call for the shooting came in at 3:23 p.m. from the complex in the 100 block of Jefferson Point Lane.

One man, identified as a 19-year-old from York County, was found shot in the leg at the scene. He was taken to a local hospital, where he’s listed in stable condition.

Just after 8:45 p.m. police said they had found the second victim in the shooting. A 17-year-old, also from York County, walked into a local hospital with a neck wound. Police say he’s listed in stable condition.

This was one of a handful shootings police in Hampton Roads responded to on Thursday.

Police say a 17-year-old young man from North Carolina walked into a Newport News hospital after being shot.

Hampton police say a 34-year-old man was injured by a self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday evening in the area of Sloop Court and Cunningham Drive

Police say they have no motive or suspect information at this time.
