VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Two people were detained by police after a man walked into a Virginia Beach hospital with a gunshot wound Friday night.

The man’s wound is not life-threatening, according to police.

Minutes later, officers in the area were able to locate a suspect vehicle in the 1900 block of Pavilion Drive, where two people were detained for questioning.

Police say 22-year-old Marcus J. Eliot, Jr. from Alexandria has been taken into custody and charged with felonious assault and use of a firearm. He is being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

He told the judge he would like to wait to speak to his attorney before setting a bond hearing.
