VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police say an attempted abduction that was reported earlier this week did not happen.

Virginia Beach police say a juvenile reported that a white van stopped behind him and a man jumped out and tried to grab him at around 3:15 p.m. Monday on Cypress Avenue, near the Oceanfront. He reportedly fought off this man as well as a second suspect.

However, after an “in-depth interview” with the alleged victim, police say they determined the incident did not happen.
