Police arrest man in connection to Family Dollar robbery

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A 57-year-old man was arrested after robbing a Family Dollar Sunday evening. 

Police responded to the Family Dollar on Lincoln Street around 7:15 p.m. for a business robbery. 

The witness told police the suspect went into the business and picked up some items to buy. When the suspect got to the counter, he showed the clerk a knife and demanded money. After removing an unknown amount of cash, the suspect left the area on a red bicycle. 

Kent Wade Williams was arrested in connection to this incident. 

Williams has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of burglary while armed. 

He remains in Hampton City Jail.
