Police: 3 armed robberies in Norfolk could be connected

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Norfolk believe the same suspect might be behind a string of recent armed robberies.

According to information provided by Norfolk police Tuesday, the three robberies happened over the course of a week — and within a mile radius next to the Cottage Road Park neighborhood.

The first was reported around 1:45 a.m. on May 21, at a 7-Eleven on E. Little Creek Road. 

The second happened at Family Dollar on E. Little Creek Road during the late night hours of May 24.

Police say a clerk was assaulted in a May 29 robbery at a 7-Eleven on Tidewater Drive, suffering injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

In each incident, police say the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded money. Images of the suspected robber in two of the incidents were released on Tuesday — one of which showed a man in a hooded sweatshirt, armed with a handgun.
