HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — One man is being treated for injuries that are not life-threatening after being shot Sunday morning.
Hampton Police said in a news release dispatchers received a call about shots fired in the area of Clay Street and East Mercury Boulevard just after 4 a.m.
While officers were on scene, dispatchers received another call about a walk-in gunshot victim to the Sentara CarePlex.
A preliminary investigation found an 18-year-old young man was inside his home when someone fired several shots toward the home, police said. The man was struck several times.
Police said the man is in stable condition. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
This is an ongoing investigation.
