Phoebus falls to Heritage-Lynchburg in Class 3 state title game

LYNCHBURG (WAVY) — Phoebus failed in its bid to win its 8th state title since 2001 by falling to Heritage (Lynchburg) 24-20 in the Class 3 state title game.


Quarterback Chris Daniels led the Phantoms with 246 yards passing, he also accounted for all three Phoebus touchdowns.

While the passing game was strong, Phoebus could not establish the run. The Phantoms were held to 56 yards on the ground.

Phoebus ends the season with a 13-2 record while Heritage finishes 14-1.

It’s the first state for Heritage in 16 years.
