Pet killed in Melfa mobile home fire

MELFA, Va. (WAVY) – A pet died in a fire in Melfa late Sunday night.

The Onancock Volunteer Fire Department responded to the mobile home fire at 20246 Michelle Circle just before 11 p.m. 

The fire caused significant damage to the residence. 

Firefighters removed a pet from the home and were unable to resuscitate it. There were no other injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
