WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — An unfortunate set of events played out Thursday morning during a traffic delay on the Peninsula.
James City County police spokesperson Stephanie Williams said it all started when a tractor-trailer tried to make a u-turn on Pocahontas Trail (U.S. 60) near the Walmart Distribution Center in Williamsburg — and got stuck.
This blocked all lanes of traffic.
Williams said officers were called to the scene around 7 a.m.
Another call was received 15 minutes later that someone had gotten out of their vehicle to see what was causing the back-up, and another vehicle ran over his foot, Williams said.
That person’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
A wrecker has been dispatched to the scene to clear the stuck tractor-trailer.
