Police: Man charged for stabbing man on Courtney Ave in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police are investigating a stabbing incident that left a 36-year-old man injured early Thursday morning.

Norfolk Police say emergency dispatchers received a call just after 3:45 a.m. for a stabbing victim in the 2400 block of Courtney Avenue.

Officers arrived to the scene and located a man with a stab wound. He was transported by medics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and police say he is expected to OK.

The man told police he was stabbed by an acquaintance, identified as 47-year-old Antwon Leon Jones, after the two got into an altercation.

Jones was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and carjacking. Police say he is being held in the Norfolk City Jail.
