Person hurt in Hampton shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Hampton are investigating a shooting that left a person injured on Sunday. 

Dispatch said they received the call around 3 p.m. for the shooting in the 600 block of Westland Avenue. 

The investigation revealed that the a 33-year-old Hampton man and another person were walking in the 600 block of Westwood Avenue.

A silver vehicle approached the man and a verbal argument ensued between the two people and the occupants of the vehicle. Gunfire was exchanged and a the man was shot.

He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no additional injuries or property damaged.
